This original wood engraving is inspired by the Dartmoor landscape. A tiny little bird can be seen swooping down into the sea of heather. This is a two colour wood engraving, first the block was inked up with red and blue making a beautiful gradient. Then the detailed figurative layer was printed over the top with black ink.
To create this artwork I engraved the image using traditional tools onto a piece of lemonwood before it was inked up and printed.
This artwork is printed on acid free paper using lightfast inks, it is mounted in an archival quality mount meaning this artwork is made to last, a real investment. Each print is signed, dated and editioned in pencil.
This print is also available in just black and white or yellow and blue – you can find these listed on my shop.
Each print has been hand printed on my 150 year old Albion press, each print may vary very slightly. This is a limited edition of 15 prints.
Please note the wood block and photo frame pictured are not included
