15 x 15 x .2 cm (unframed)
This detailed wood engraving depicts three hens in a Cotswold landscape. In the foreground you can see foxgloves and ferns and in the background a drystone wall and trees can be seen. To create this print a block of boxwood was engraved by hand using traditional tools. The block was then inked up and printed on a 150 year old Albion Press. The shape of the print was dictated by the circumference of the trunk giving it a really lovely organic shape.
There are just 20 prints in this edition and each print is signed, numbered and dated in pencil on the front. The paper is acid free and the ink is lightfast, it comes in an archival white mount.
The frame and woodblock pictured are not included.
